Annie Hall' named the funniest screenplay

The movie, written by Allen and Marshall, claimed the top position in a list of 101 funniest scripts. Annie Hall won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1977.

The list announced at the Arclight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood at the conclusion of two hours of panel discussions and clips, hosted by Rob Reiner, reported Variety.

Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond's screenplay for 1959 Marilyn Monroe-starrer Some Like it Hot was on the second spot. The script was based on the German film Fanfare of Love.

Bill Murray-starrer Groundhog Day, whose script was by Danny Rubin and Harold Ramis, Story by Danny Rubin, came third.

Airplane, TootsieYoung FrankensteinDr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the BombBlazing SaddlesMonty Python and the Holy Grail and National Lampoon's Animal House rounded out the top 10.
