SBI today posted a 25% rise in standalone net profit at Rs 3,879.07 crore for the second quarter ended September.
Total income increased to Rs 46,854.81 crore during the quarter as against Rs 41,833.36 crore a year earlier.
The bank has reported a consolidated net profit at Rs 4,991.70 crore for the said quarter compared with Rs 4,023.84 crore in the year-ago period. Total income has jumped to Rs 66,585.85 crore for the second quarter, from Rs 61,098.67 crore in the same period last year.
The bank’s total income has increased from Rs 13,020.46 crore in July-September quarter of 2014-15 to Rs 13,701.93 crore for the same quarter of the current fiscal.

Tata Motors posts Q2 net loss of Rs428 crore
Tata Motors on Friday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 427.79 crore due to poor domestic performance and JLR’s weaker sales in China, foreign exchange revaluation and higher depreciation and amortisation expenses in the British arm. Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 60,853.03 crore as against Rs 60,163.99 crore in the year-ago period.
M&M Q2 profit down 2.43%
Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday reported 2.43% decline in standalone net profit at Rs 923.56 crore for the second quarter. Its net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 9,121.79 crore as against Rs 9,284.88 crore in the year-ago quarter, down 1.75%.
PNB profit up 8%
Punjab National Bank on Friday reported 8% rise in standalone net profit to Rs 621.03 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015-16.
