There are 30 public toilets in Agra and 155 community ones -- while public toilets are on roadsides, meant for those in corporation limits suddenly surprised by the call of nature, community toilets are located in colonies and hutments where many homes have no toilets. Grossly under-served, one might say. But now, Agra Municipal Corporation has introduced a new android-based app 'Toilet Locator' that will lead you to the nearest toilet when you're in dire need.
The new app, officials say, is part of the smart city initiative. According to Census 2011, the population of Agra city is 15,85,704. For that population size, there is little chance that anyone using the app will find himself or herself a clean toilet.
